Summary: Simply Mesmerizing.....
Comment: I never knew Minimalist music can sound so sentimental on piano. The simple use of consonant chords, as in Pop music, can soothe your mind and submerge you into the world of music. The constant arpeggiations in 'Mad Rush' and the second movement of 'Metamorphisis' are especially dazzling. If you like simple piano music, then you'll probably love this album. If there's any score for these music, why might as well play it?

Summary: Songs for a Rainy Day
Comment: This all piano recording is some of the most minimal of all Glass compositions - so in order to find this appealing the listener should be a decided fan of minimalism. That being said, it is fine music indeed, Glass uses his bittersweet motifs throughout the recording, lots of repetition on a few basic chords. Mad Rush is I believe one of his best, most signature works of all time, because it totally captures his
use of counterpoint to an effect of an ethereal auditory ambience. Mad Rush alone makes this worth buying.

Comment: Never thought I'd actually like a Philip Glass album, but this is excellent. Very relaxing music. It's of course repetitive and spartan, but in a way that sounds good, rather than jumbled and meaningless.
