Summary: Best portable headphones - period.
Comment: I've owned Koss' PortaPro headphones for 20 years. They are far and away the best sounding lightweight headphones I've ever found. I was heartbroken when my original pair finally up and died a few years ago, but Koss held up their lifetime warranty, and for $5 shipping, they sent me a brand new pair. Headphones for life... how can you beat that?

Comment: I bought them based on the wonderful reviews here and at goodcans.com and I must say they are very good. I love the way they rest on your temples, which makes them comfortable all day at the office.

I would give it four stars, but the only drawback I have found is that it seems to pull one or two hairs every time I remove them. The metal slide part seems to pinch a hair. Great value.

Summary: Only one gripe
Comment: I bought the Koss PortaPro Headphones to replace the earbuds for my MP3 player. They're light, comfortable and have decent audio capabilities. You can fold them up and put them in my pocket. I'm generally satisfied with them and would make the purchase again. My only gripe is that the earpieces tend to detach from the frame. There's only a small notch and groove holding them together. Reassembling them when the earpieces come off isn't a huge hassle, but it is annoying.

Summary: Want great sound, look no further...
Comment: I just got my first ipod (60g video) and like many found the stock phones subpar, especially for a gizmo as capable as the ipod. So I began doing research for headphones. I tried many, even some of the noise cancelation types. They were just to much money and gave me the odd sensation that my ears just popped. So, via the reviews here, I gave these a shot. You will not find better phones for the money. I listen to Pop, Jazz, Hard Rock, Country, Classical, New Age and Hip Hop. These perform great in every category. I am very crucial about bass in headphones as so many claim to have "great bass" yet fall short. The Porta Pro's get straight A's in this category, out performing the high dollar jobs I tried. I am putting them through the paces while writing this and maxing out the volume to heavy rock. The bass is flawless with no hint of bottoming out. If you are not on board yet, well guess what, they are super comfortable too, you may forget you have them on. I am so glad I bought two pair. The second the girlfriend hears these I am certain a hostile take-over will be forthcoming. BUY THESE NOW! Or buy two.

Comment: [...]i was pretty dissapointed when i got the package and saw what looked like a set of phones that you could have gotten out of a vending machine. however, after putting them on and learning how the adjustment system works, I have to say these are the best headphones you can find anywhere. The first time i tried them out i was blown away by the sound quality, i've never had a set of headphones portable or otherwise that sounds better, the quality of the bass is unreal for portables. the sound is rich and you can hear tiny details and subtleties that you miss out on with most other headphones.

If my praise for these wasn't clear before let me be perfectly clear. IF YOU LISTEN TO MUSIC YOU NEED THESE. portapros should be standard with ipods and way more widely available then they are. I went through a lot of trouble to get these and they didn't let me down. yes they feel cheap as hell but it's the quality that shows. they are extremely comfortable and light and I would be perfectly happy if these were the last pair of headphones i ever buy. I urge you to buy these before even considering another pair. just spend the money and if you don't like them then theres something wrong with you.
