Customer Rating: Summary: No up to scratch Comment: Sorry to disgree with the other reviewers, but I found the performance of these headphones well below par. I bought them for my wife before we flew to Germany, and I have tried them out on a number of flights since. I have found myself switching the noise cancelling on and off a number of times to check if it is actually doing anything.
I also found that wearing the headphones for any longer than 1 hour makes my ears hurt because of the pressure on them.
In comparison, I also have the a set of Targus headphones, and these are brilliant. When I switch on the noise cancelling, I have to turn the audio on the in-flight entertainment down to it's lowest level, otherwise it is too loud now that all the background sound is removed.
Regards,
Brett
Customer Rating: Summary: Great headphones, cheap construction. Comment: The first week I had these, the left earpiece's plastic "rails" which hold the earpiece in its slot broke. The parts that seem to need the most strength structurally are fasioned with cheap plastic.
Sound quality is great, with music playing and noise cancelling active, a normal conversation is barely audible in the background; great for crowded offices. Battery life is good, I've gotten 24+ hours using a NiMH rechargeable.
Customer Rating: Summary: good buy for the money... Comment: The white noise that some folks complained about was minimal. The ability of these headphones to cancel noise was better than I had expected....I put them on in the plane, before plugging them in to my DVD player - when I flipped the noise cancelling switch, most of the engine noise went away. If you are looking for "concert-hall-perfect" sound, you will not find what you are looking for in a set of headphones that cost less than 30 bucks. If you're looking for an affordable and relatively comfortable set of headphones that will allow you to hear your DVDs or MP3 music while flying, I would recommend the RP-HC70.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very impressive for the price Comment: I ordered these headphones from Amazon based primarily on user reviews of a number of noise cancelling headphones. I am quite pleased with my purchase. Though not stellar audiophile quality, the sound is pretty darn good, and with some minor EQ it's excellent. The noise cancelling effect seems to work very well: much better than I expected. Furthermore, the headphones are very comfortable and seem to be solidly constructed. I highly recommend them.
Customer Rating: Summary: First Pair of Noise Cancelling Headphones and I'm Pleased Comment: I purchased a Panasonic 9" DVD-LX95 and these headphones came with the package. Reading a few of these reviews I thought I was in for a real problem with the audio and I would have to use my sony headphones, for instance a lot of people are complaining about hissing noises. I have not experienced any of these problems. These headphones work great. I hear lots of bass, crystal clear voices and absolutely no hissing noises.
What a great investment. Thanks Panasonic!!!!

With the Panasonic RP-HC70 Noise-Cancelling Headphones along for the ride, you'll no longer harbor suspicions that the airlines deliberately seat you as close to the jet engines as possible. Because you won't care! These lightweight, folding headphones are designed for travel, and they apply two levels of noise cancelling effect to CD-Audio, music and talk radio.
