Ouch! Looks like a cheap kid-sized tennis racket, but brother, this ain't for the kids. It's actually a fine way for adults to work on their upper-body strength and kill bugs at the same time. 18" long, with a 6" wide paddle lined with metal grid. A coil in the handle sends high voltage through the paddle when a button is pushed; hit a bug with it and the bug will bug you no more. But despite the manufacturer's claims that it's safe for people, Scott reports that flesh-paddle contact delivers a nasty shock, nasty enough to say "Keep this away from kids!" We've seen these in other catalogs for about twice the price, so buy it from us. Just be careful with it. 2 AA batteries, not included.

Customer Rating: Summary: Zapping has never been more fun! Comment: I've had a bunch of different zappers, and usually paid more for them. This one is the best ever. Lots of power and really sends the little flying suckers out with a snap and a pop. So much fun you will *almost* want to let some flies into the house, just so you can go hunting.
Customer Rating: Summary: we love this!!! Comment: this racquet is the best item ever. we have grain moths we had a hard time getting rid of and it worked on those. Ther real test was when fruit fly season came and it worked wonders! I had to come down to get them but in no time the fruit flies were gone. my husband had me buy another one so we are always ready no matter where we are in the house...
Customer Rating: Summary: Very powerful but dangerous Comment: This swatter can kill very large bugs because it holds a larger voltage difference than other electric swatters (I know because there are 3 different brands at my work).
However, the other two swatters have the protective screen. This has no protective screen and thus you can accidentally shock yourself or electronic equipment.
If you want a fun way to kill cockroaches then get this. If you have pesky flying insects get a protected screen one (like from Hunters Guide).
Customer Rating: Summary: My experience Comment: I bought a fly zapper just like this years ago and it was the best purchase ever, flys actually pop/explode when they touch the grid. It's a lot of fun to use just don't touch the grid with the power on because it will shock you hard, this is by far not a toy. It works great especially in areas or on surfaces that would've made it hard to swat a fly like on the rim on a glass or on a curtain, no smashed fly guts with this baby, they just pop/explode & die. You actually see sparks, very cool at night & fun for the whole family. The first one I bought about 3 years ago worked just great until my wife decided to actually swat a fly with it, causing it to break because its just made of thin plastic, all you need to do is touch the fly with it, I found this works best by slowing moving the zapper towards the fly until it touch it, or you can swat a fly with it as long as the fly is in mid-air. I bought my replacement swatter here on Monster through American Science & Surplus. To my disappointment the swatter arrived at my door in a large cardboard type envelope without any cushioning inside & to my dismay the swatter was broken in about 10 pieces. I wish the company would've stamped the package fragile and put cushioning in it because these zappers do break easy. To my delight when I called the company the next day to complain, they had a very understanding attitude for my situation, they didn't give me any hassle, they apologized for what happened and had its replacement at my door step 2 days later completely well packed/protected. I would recommend this product to anyone and also recommend buying from American Science & Surplus, their outstanding customer service is much appreciated.
Customer Rating: Summary: Get one with C or D batteries! AA is weak. Comment: These are nice, they make mosquitos POP when you zap them.
However, if you're one of those who likes to have fun when you kill bugs, get one with either C or D batteries. They carry MUCH more power and will kill things like Cockroaches which AA battery-powered swatters will not.
