Summary: Cord Problems
Comment: I bought these headphones because I like the behind the ear wrap-around style and this was what was available. My last pair lasted me two years but, sadly, these only lasted three months.

The problem is with their "tangle-free" cord. Sony wrapped a rubber cord with a tight knit mesh weaving in order to reduce tangling. The problem is that the cord still tangles a bit and mesh weave opens up. The inner-cord, which is not nearly as strong as a standard headphone's cord slipped its way out of the mesh weave and snapped.

The sound quality was pretty good, although I would have liked a little more bass, and the folding was convenient. However, a cord that breaks after three months of use is absurd and so is the $27 dollar replacement cost.

Summary: Good Sound
Comment: It has a really nice sound, but I don't really care for it's looks. It uses cheap plastic, but the cord is unique. It is made of a cloth-like material instead of plastic. The cord also has an extension for normal length. I find this useful.

Summary: Great Headphones
Comment: These are a superb sounding headset at a very decent price. From this perspective, the item is a no-brainer. The sound is clean, full, taut, and very well balanced. The bass is a pleasant surprise: clean, plenty, and solid without any juke-box artifacts. They are also very comfortable, much more so than other Sony street headphones I have tried. On the con side, they come with a very short cord, only one foot long -- very good for runners with their iPod on their arm. To accommodate more usual use, they add a one-meter long extension cord. The cord is great -- very light weight --, but it is too long. It would be wonderful if it were only 16-18 inches long. On top of that, if you want to replace the cord, Sony, bless them, charges $26 to do so. You can buy a new pair with a new cord for less. Don't ask me, but we all know stupidity is rampant these days. Also on the con side: the foldable frame is quite fragile. Typical adult care will overcome this problem, but the frame will not take rough treatment. But don't get me wrong: the pros of these headphone far outweigh the cons.

Summary: Nice sound, hurt my ears
Comment: I couldn't keep these headphones on for more than five minutes before my ears started hurting. They just didn't fit me well. I gave them to my husband, and they fit him just fine. The sound is good, but I guess the fit is very individual.

Summary: Great Sound, Moderatly Uncomfortable
Comment: Considering the price, and the type of headphones, these are a great buy. The sound quality is significantly above average for this type. My only complaint is, as has been stated before, they tend to pinch the top of the ears, but its really only noticable during prolonged use.
