Customer Rating: Summary: This is good, but Derma Step is still the best! Comment: I had tried all kinds of skin care systems, with different levels of success, but in the end, the Derma Step system works the best, with long lasting results. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Stuff! Comment: I have been using Hope In A Jar for a few months now, and I am addicted. I am 38 years old, and for most of my life I have had a great complexion. In my early 30s I developed rosacea with acne. The doctor gave me a lotion for it and it cleared most of it up, but some redness remained that I just covered with makeup. Since starting with Philosophy my skin has changed, and for the better. I use the Purity wash, Hope In A Jar, Hope In a Tube for eyes and Lips, When Hope Is Not Enough serum, daily microdelivery pads and weekly microdermabrasion 2 step. My rosacea breakouts are now almost non existent. The Philosophy has taken the redness away and has made it possible for me to throw my medicated lotion away!
The smell isn't bad, in my opinion. I wasn't crazy about it at first, but got used to it later, so I hardly smell it anymore. The dermatologist wanted to put me on another cream to clear up the redness, and the stuff smelled like tar, so this Hope is a great improvement over a tar smell! I'll take it!
I was using Avon Anew Line and Wrinkle Corrector and Anew Eye Serum, and while those products were good, Hope is far superior. My face looks and feels so much better, very soft. Makeup optional skin is the truth, I don't mind myself without makeup anymore. Now if someone would invent something to get rid of dark undereye circles I would be set!
Give Christina Carlino time, if any company could accomplish that it would be Philosophy!
Customer Rating: Summary: Not sure why this is so popular. Comment: I don't why people rave about this product. There are much better moisturizers out there. It does smell bad! The first time I put it on, I thought it had gone bad or something. Nope, not the case. I gave it 2 stars because it has a whipped cream like texture to it. After seeing Christina Carlino (creator of Philosophy) on QVC yesterday, I was really turned off from her products. She was so stuck up to me. I do have to give credit where credit is due & purity made simple & microdelivery peel are great products. It's either hit or miss with their products. Some are great & some are awful, but all are pricey so do your research before purchasing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Will Burn Your Eyes Comment: Do NOT get this moisturizer anywhere near your eyes. Don't even wear it in the rain, because traces of it could be carried by rainwater into your eyes. It burns something fierce, and although I used eyewash and drops, I could not see clearly for two hours. I am surprised this product is on the market, and very surprised it's popular.
Customer Rating: Summary: Sadly, not for me Comment: Oh, how I wanted this moisturizer to work for me! I like Philosophy products, and after reading all the positive reviews, I was excited to try "hope in a jar". Unfortunately, this product makes me break out. I am 39 with combination skin -- cheeks are smooth & clear, t-zone (nose & forehead) has larger pores and tends to have the very occasional blemish. I noticed that some people with similar skin had a good experience with this moisturizer, so I had high hopes. But after giving it a month, I have to concede defeat and give up on this product. I have gotten two or three deep cyst-like blemishes on my cheeks, something I've never had before. They are painful, red, and embarassing. So, I guess it's back to Murad products for this gal! Too bad, because I really wanted to love this stuff.

often referred to makeup optional skin in a jar, our famous hope in a jar formula was originally created for the medical market and is a world-renowned skin cream. it contains beta glucan, a powerful antioxidant, which enhances skin immunology; and lactic acid, which gently exfoliates skin to reveal smoother, healthier looking skin. for years, plastic surgeons have been recommending this formula to patients in pursuit of younger, healthier skin. results can be seen and felt within days, leaving a healthy, rosy glow to the skin that doesn't require makeup or cover up.
