Customer Rating: Summary: Good for the money! Comment: When I went to buy the headphones from Amazon, the price increased from $38.99 to $55 overnight! Too much for me. I went through new egg and the shipped price was $45. Then Amazon lowers the price again to $39 & free ship! darn! it figures!
Anyway, my review on the headphones is that they are good and well worth the $40. Don't hesitate to buy these but don't get your hopes too high. There are a lot of 5 star reviews on these headphones which I think are too high. 5 stars should mean the Ritz-Carlton of Headphones and these are not they. Kind of like when you hear too many good things about a movie and when finally you see it, it turns out to be just a decent movie but not an Oscar winner. Same deal here. I gave 4 stars b/c of the nice price.
Customer Rating: Summary: You have to try these! Comment: I've been searching for some Ipod headphones for several weeks and have the Etymotic 6i. I was impressed with the sound of the Sennheiser PX 200s until I tried the 100s and discovered the bass that was missing from the musical balance. I can't explain the physics of why an open design like the 100s produces more bass than the sealed 200s, but it's a fact. And placement on the ears is less crucial. I've found the 200s comfortable to wear most of the day on a large head, so I expect the 100s to be the same. I'm not sure when I'll get back to the Etymotic at twice the price. It's amazing to get great sound at a reasonable price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great but not the greatest Comment: So I was finally fed up with the default ear buds on my iPod and shopping around I came to the conclusion that these were the best for the under 100 price range. Since I did buy these as replacements to the ear buds that's how I'm going to review them on the basis of the ear buds (Except the numerical ratings).
SOUND QUALITY: 8/10
A hell of a lot better than the ear buds. The music seems like it surrounds you, giving a stereo like experience. Unlike the earbuds when you turn up the volume you don't loose quality everything still sounds clear. It also seems like you can make out notes better with these than the ear buds. One thing that is bad is that the sound "leaks" since they're semi-open, if you're in a quiet place and have the volume turned up above 25% chances are people will notice. That's probably my biggest gripe about them
BASS: 8/10
Great bass response. The first thing I did when I got these was test out the bass and I have to seem I am very pleased. You get that rumbling type noise on hip hop songs and can hear specific bass notes like never before on the original ear buds. The bass also doesn't blow out if you turn it up, the first day I had my iPod I blew out the bass. The only way I can really describe it is bliss, I simply love it.
COMFORT: 9/10
They're the over the head variety and actually fit very well. Unlike the ear buds they don't keep falling out, you won't have to worry> One of the main reasons I bought new some new headphones. They have some cushions on the inside of the top band that make a small difference but what's good about them is the ear muff parts don't really cause a bother. What does however is if you listen to them for an extended period of time, oh let's say about an hour or more your ears might start feeling a little warm. Still, the best over the head's I've ever had.
DURABILITY: 7/10
Not much here since I've only had them for a short while but they do seem like they could break. Since they do fold it almost feels as if you could accidently break one of the parts, I've had no troubles so far but you never know.
PORTABILITY: 7/10
Of course they aren't going to be as convient as those small little ear buds but they're still pretty good in terms of portability. They fold to which makes them able to fit in your pocket but if you stick them and your iPod in one pocket it'll feel a bit cramped. The case it comes with seems like a nice idea but it's not that great, it takes some time to get the headphones inside. It's not an instant type of thing.
CONCLUSION: Great headphones for 60 bucks to replace those bothersome ear buds. Nice audio quality and bass plus portability make these one of the best 60 dollar replacements for the ear buds (If you want better quality, if not I'd suggest something a little cheaper).
Customer Rating: Summary: Highly Recommended! Comment: very good quality phones they're crystal clear, have great bass mids and highs don't worry if the high end sounds a little laid back at first, it opens up after some burn-in very natural sounding and nice fold up design definitely the best headphones under $100!
Customer Rating: Summary: Too expensive for what you get Comment: I've been evaluating headphones over the past 2 weeks - I'm planning for a long (extra long) flight. I thought that these would be great: they fold, claim to have good bass and have closed design that should keep out some outside noise.
The problem is that the only thing they do is keep out some outside noise. I'm not looking for active noise-cancelling, so this is ok. But the real problem is that it's got very little bass. I also bought (at the same time) a pair of cheap Sony behind the neck headphones for working out for $16 - they sound 10 times better than the Senns. I couldn't believe it. Why would I pay $50+ for headphones that don't sound better than $16 Sonys!
Don't get me wrong, I love Sennheiser. I own a pair of HD-497s. These are awesome for any kind of listening! The only problem is that they don't fold and are a bit bulky for air-travel. I guess I'll just hold on to those. They're typically around $60-$80 and provide better noise reduction and incredible bass and mids.
It's amazing how many crappy headphones are floating around. My wife was right: higher price doesn't mean higher quality! I hate it when she's right.
Enjoy

Add oomph to your portable digital audio player with the Sennheiser PX-100W open-air, dynamic supra-aural mini headphones. They're easy to store, thanks to Sennheiser's smart fold and flip design, which allows the ear cups to be turned 90 degrees enabling you to fold the headphones closed. Once folded, the headphones will lock into its closed position and they'll easily fit into a shirt pocket. The PX-100W offers a crisp and fast bass response thanks to "twin damping" system with 80ppi polyurethane and special perforated elements. Other features include: - High-resolution sound due to Sennheiser "Duofol" diaphragms with spiral embossing (reduces and spreads eigenforms)
- 1.4 m Kevlar-reinforced OFC copper cable with 3.5 mm stereo jack plug
- Strong Neodymium magnets for extremely low distortion
- Robust steel headband with metal joints, steel-reinforced headband ends, connection to the ear cups
- Easily replaceable ear pads and headband padding
- 2-year guarantee
