Summary: Sad that BBQ season is over
Comment: After living on my own with just a Smokey Joe grill, I've settled down and managed to upgrade to this model -- I'm so glad I did! I'm very impressed with the heat retention and am able to grill with hot coals for over an hour without having to add any more.

Pros:
1. Surface area! One layer of hot coals lasts over an hour and the last time we used it, we cooked enough food for several meals for four.
2. Ash catcher/removal system. One problem I had with my ol' Smokey Joe was ash and old coals clogging the vents on the bottom. The removal system is a metal thingymadoodle that you manually control to sweep ash into the vents. The ash falls into a catcher, so there's no wind-blown messes. Only problem is that using it too vigorously can cause ash to puff up onto cooking food.
3. Hinged areas on the grill so I can open it up to add more coals if I had wanted to. No need to lift the entire grill off to get more fresh coals on the grill!

Cons:
1. Lid is big, so it can feel kind of heavy to lift up and down a lot. No place to hang it, either, so need a separate accessory or just put it on the ground.
2. I couldn't get my Weber chimney starter to work that well with the grill. I put it on top of the cooking grill and lit the newspaper, but it never really caught on like usual. I don't know if the oxygen demand was too high for the kettle to keep up, even with the vents open? Moving the chimney starter to the concrete patio got it going again.

I'm very pleased with my Weber and would gladly recommend it to somebody in the market for a family-sized charcoal grill!

Comment: Weber again proves nobody can engineer a grill like they do. Pure simplicity and genius

Summary: Great BBQ
Comment: This bbq is great. Much better than my old webber, which lasted 10 years. The new one is very easy to clean and adjust the heat.

Summary: Great Classic Grill
Comment: I grew up with a Weber kettle grill, and was excited when my wife bought me this one for Christmas. I have used various gas grills, and they can't be beaten for the ease and speed of use, but I find that my grilling experience is more enjoyable with charcoal. I love setting up a nice pyramid of briquettes and letting them burn, allowing me time to get the food ready for cooking. Most importanly, the kettle design allows fast, all-over cooking.
The handle does get hot, but its not that big a deal. I have 0 complaines about this item. I have the grill cover, and it is helpful to keep the grill clean. I know- it used to be my job at the beginning of summer to clean our old one.
For the charcoal cooker, the buck stops here.
