Summary: Great earbuds!
Comment: Switched to CX 300 from stock iPod airbuds - the difference is undescribable! Sound quality is amazing. Great bass! for those who say there is no bass at all - use the right size and push them further into your ears. Cord is really small, and gets on my way sometimes, but getting used to it. I do hear the wind whenever I go outside wearing these earbuds, as one of other users mantioned.

Overall - great earbuds!

Summary: Not "mug-me" white, light, very good sound
Comment: I've been using Bose headphones...state of the art. So, I didn't expect much when I put these in my ears...just hoped that they would suffice, since lugging around larger headphones has become unworkable. Wow, was I surprised! They sound great. They're not surround-sound...but they will give you your music in a private quiet that's amazingly rich, given their tiny size. Since having one side of their attached wires longer, they go around the back of your head and don't hang in front, they're very unobtrusive...I live in a big city, and not advertising that I might be listening to an iPod is a big advantage. I can't imagine why anyone (another reviewer) would complain about these.

Summary: Terrible
Comment: I got these based on the great reviews from Amazon customers. I'm not sure what everyone else is using, but these headphones are terrible!!! There is absolutely no bass, and the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever tried. The cords are very cheaply made as well. Do not waste your money on this item and don't believe the other reviews!

Summary: As far as earbuds go...
Comment: I'm used to studio headphones and have always been brutally disappointed with earbuds. But obviously the better, studio-style headphones aren't always practical for traveling, etc.

The same day I saw a great review for these CX 300's in PC Mag a buddy of mine saw that I finally got an iPod and was telling me I needed to get a pair of these. So here we are.

These are great. Not perfect, but great nonetheless. I'd go 4.5 stars, if that were an option.

Reading through some of the other reviews, I want to comment further on some of their comments:

a) The j-style cord is designed to go behind the neck, but even if you wear in in front as you would "y" cord it seems to stay outta the way better. I see this as an enhancement, actually.

b) To get the best bass sound you should experiment with the different sized covers. The tigher the fit, the better the bass tones.

That said, though, I thought these sounded tinnier than I was told they would. I've played with the EQ settings a ton, and that helps, but they're still not nearly as rich sounding as a decent pair of studio-style headphones.

c) I like that there are different sizes of bud caps and that you can mix 'em up. One of my ear canals is apparently larger than the other (freak?) and now I can wear one size in one and another size the other... kinda feels custom.

d) Yeah, mine doesn't have the "B" either, but I think I get it: the "B" is for black, and the "S" is for silver. There ya go...

e) You definitely won't have to turn them up as loudly as other headphones to get a good, solid volume level, which I would think would extend the battery life at least a little.

Bottom-line: these are the best ear buds I've ever tried. Although they're not as ideal as pair of studio phones, they absolutely CRUSH the crappy ones that come with iPods.

Get a pair...

Summary: Great product but for $54.99 w/shipping is a bit much. Maybe only $10 less
Comment: First of all wtf i ordered a Sennheiser cx 300B but got the regular cx 300 no B with it. Did this happen to anyone else???

Great ear phones. You gotta have the right size earbuds on to fit your ear perfectly for maximum bass. I used my old sony 71 style ear buds and put them on the Sennheiser 300(B). I could hear my notes in my songs than the Sony's 71 series with better quality. Also you need good quality songs to have good quality sound. The only problem is that its kinda of short from my pant's pocket to my ears, btw i'm already short, think of what a tall person has to go through.

All in all i'm am very pleased because the Sony's 71 material quality was a F-, I guess for $54.99 its good if you have the money to spend.
