Summary: These are excellent sounding headphones with very good bass response and extremely well balanced sound.
Comment: The sennheiser hd 202 headphones produce very good well balanaced musical sound.The bass response is very good without being overblown..The hd 202 phones have very good sensitivity,and should mate well with your portable media or home stereo system...I find the phones to be a little uncomfortable after a few hours of use.The hd201 are a little more comfortable ,but that model though excellent is less sensitive. I can live with this one shortcoming,that is the hd 202 may be a little tight around your ears,but this falls under personal preforance.I just bought a second pair today on sale for 20 bucks!!! I think these phones are a fantastic deal.They seem to be built well and sound great.What more can i say.4 star rated - 1 star for comfort!!! Thank you Stewart L.

Summary: Pretty good cans, fair price
Comment: I think these headphones sound good but they don't really blow me away. The bass seems a little overdone and the upper mids seem a bit recessed. I'm using an iAudio M5 to power these cans and using .flac files as my music source. (.flac is a type of lossless compression that sounds great to me; as good as .wav) The M5 has eq settings and I've worked out something that sounds pretty good.
Anyway, I likely expected more than what could be offered from these based on the reviews. For $25 I think they're good value but not mind-blowing. I also agree with the review about them being tight and pressing your ear flat against your head. They can be quite painful if not perfectly positioned. I think the tension could be a bit less... Maybe if you pull them out really far it would help? I may just stretch them over a bowling ball for a while and see if that helps. ;)
Overall, good value, good phones.. just not 'special' to me.

Summary: Great sound and reasonable price
Comment: I've had these headphones for about a month now. I was just using them for an audio book for a while and didn't appreciate just how good they were until I listened to a DVD using them. The sound is excellent- subtle sounds come through very well and they give a good surround-sound kind of effect. They also block out ambient noise very effectively and are comfortable. I had no idea what I was missing using other lousy headphones or speakers until I tried these out. They are definitely worth the money.
